Irish cryptocurrency exchange Bitsane has suddenly gone offline and has deleted its social media accounts, as reported by Forbes on Thursday.
The exchange reportedly offered spot trading of cryptos and gained popularity as an early provider of XRP trading. Notably, the email sent by the publishing also bounced back. As per the exchanges’ customers, they have purportedly lost amounts ranging from $5,000 to $150,000 in crypto holdings.
As per crypto data website CoinMarketCap, the trading information of Bitsane hasn’t been updated for over 10 days. A user who wishes to remain anonymous, further claims of losing over $150,000:
“I was trying to transfer XRP out to bitcoin or cash or anything, and it kept saying ‘temporarily disabled.’ I knew right away there was some kind of problem. I went back in to try to look at those tickets to see if they were still pending, and you could no longer access Bitsane.”
Bitsane was launched in 2017 and registered as Bitsane LP in Ireland. Aidas Rupsys and Dmitry Prudnikov have been listed as CEO and CTO respectively. As per the publishing, Prudnikov’s LinkedIn account seems to have been deleted and no one could be reached for comment.
Many users suspect that another firm dubbed as Bitsane Limited, purportedly founded by Maksim Zmitrovich, this could be a possible exit scam.
