Blockchain technology has come a long way from its inception and now it gets a TV show as well. Dubbed as ‘Blockbattle — Who’s the Next Satoshi’ a new blockchain survival television show will be broadcasted on Asia Economy TV from October 19 onwards.
Blockbattle will showcase a variety of crypto-development teams from all around the world going head to head in a five episodic series. Along with a panel of esteemed judges, viewers of the show will vote in real-time in order to choose the winner of this distributed ledger building competition
Ever since the creation of Bitcoin leveled the field, innovations around blockchains have been pouring in from around the world. From smart contracts to representative tokens, blockchain has progressed miles ahead and continues to do so as we speak.
‘Blockbattle – Who’s the Next Satoshi’
According to Asia Economy TV’s CEO, Hyun-Woo Kim a reality-show blockchain contest called Blockbattle will broadcast on the channel on October 19. The program invites a bunch of blockchain development teams from all around the world and jugdes along with the viewers will decide who among them is the next Satoshi Nakamoto. Developers who are willing to take up the challenge can apply at the official website nextsatoshi.com by September 5.
Judges – The show’s preliminary judges will be composed of members from Korea University, Dongguk University, Korean Blockchain Industry Association, Open Blockchain Association, and the Korea Blockchain Association. Judges will also include Damian Williams the of Alchemist ventures, Rayol Hwang of Hillstone Partners, Bitcoin.com’s Roger Ver, Lee Shin-Hye of GBIC, and more well-known figures in the industry.
Blockbattle announcement states:
“After the screening, ten projects will qualify for the finals. They will go through a series of presentations, one-on-one battles, and other team competitions. The ten teams will receive mentorship from domestic and international experts in technology, business, law, marketing, and finance.”
The producers of Blockbattle further explains the real-time vote feature of the show:
“Votes will be reflected during the final episode, set for November 19th. The final episode will be broadcast live, and the winner will be announced based on the results of the voting.”
Television Shows focussed on Digital Assets
Over the last two years, there has been a steady rise in the blockchain and cryptocurrency television broadcasts. In fact, CNBC documentary called ‘Bitcoin: Boom or Bust’ is scheduled to air this Monday.
In Japan, a show called ‘Bitgirls’ was featured on Tokyo MX TV that used cryptocurrencies for voting. Sony Pictures Television’s show ‘Startup’ was just approved for a third season. In May, a crypto Youtuber revealed the launch of his digital currency show that will air on Roku, CW, and CBS.
The first episode of Blockbattle will air on Asia Economy TV in Korea, Australia, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. Moreover, the show will also stream live on the Youtube channel ‘Coincast.’
