According to reports, the Bitcoin hashrate has reached a new record high. The top crypto’s hashrate reached 216 exahashes per seconds (Ex/s) on Thursday. This is an increase over its previous record of 207 Ex/s.

This was achieved despite an earlier January internet blackout in Kazakhstan. The perceived obstacles in the BTC mining ban from Kosovo didn’t stop the crypto from achieving this record.

BTC hashrate seems to have come a long distance since the broad ban on crypto mining from China reduced the network by half. Bitfarms recently declared that BTC’s current value is lower than its cost of production. Bitfarms CEO Emiliano Grodzki stated in a statement that BTC’s current price is below its cost of production.

“With BTC’s dip, while the mining hardware prices are high, we took advantage of the opportunity to transfer cash into BTC. We remain committed to executing our growth strategy and achieving our goal of 8 exahash/second before the end 2022.

Grodzki also spoke out in reference to Bitfarm’s recent BTC acquisition. The stock-traded bitcoin miner had announced that it had acquired 1,000 BTC in January for $43 million.

BTC currently trades at $42,499.74
