Meta was rebranded by Facebook to align itself with the metaverse. According to the company, the new name encompasses everything that is not just social media. Meta, for instance, announced last year that it would create an online virtual world to connect physical experiences with social media experiences. The company also showed previews of its haptic gloves in late 2013. Meta claims that the gloves could play an important role in users’ interaction with its virtual world.
