Ethereum (ETH) exceeds one million daily transactions on its network on June 28, for the first time since May 2018 as per the data reported by leading Ethereum block explorer Etherscan.

According to the data, Ethereum blockchain had 1,004,170 verified transactions on June 28th. In May 2018, the Ethereum blockchain had already registered more than one million transactions per day. It is still a remarkable feat, but it is far from the 1,349 890 daily transactions peak that it registered last January 4.

The monthly transaction volume of Ethereum on-chain reached a record high in December 2018. The same month saw 115 million transactions confirmed on-chain. This excludes the record-breaking hard fork that was caused by the DAO hack in 2016.

Diar, a crypto analytics firm, reported at the time that Ethereum volumes on decentralized applications (DApps) also registered a new high in April with 776,000 ETH transacted. Industry newsletter Diar also noted that the on-chain transactions for bitcoin (BTC), reached new highs in April. This was not the case since 2017.

Peter Brandt, a veteran trader and author, predicted that Bitcoin (BTC), a new market forecast, will continue to grow while altcoins such as Ethereum will not.
