Back in 2017, the entrepreneur took to Twitter in support of Bitcoin as he normally would. According to the tweet back then, McAfee predicted that Bitcoin will hit $500k in 3 years. He then added that if it doesn’t happen, “I will eat my dick on national television.”
McAfee has now changed his mind. According to a tweet posted on Sunday, he said the tweet was just a “ruse”.
“Eat my dick in 12 months? A ruse to onboard new users. It worked. Bitcoin was first. It’s an ancient technology.”
Reactions to McAfee’s tweet have varied. While some see Bitcoin as a “colossal failure”, others have described McAfee as a coward.
