He said:

“Twitter is funding a small independent team of up to five open source architects, engineers and designers to develop an open and decentralized standard for social media. The goal is for Twitter to ultimately be a client of this standard.”

Dorsey says that a few problems are being faced by centralized solutions such as “centralized enforcement of the global policy to address abuse and misleading information” as well as social media gradually transforming into “recommendation algorithms” as opposed to content hosting and removal.

The CEO recently completed a tour of Africa visiting Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, and South Africa, a trip which made him declare Africa as the future of Bitcoin.
